Ocwen and NAACP Announce Two Florida Events to Help Struggling Homeowners

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., Nov. 09, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Ocwen Financial Corporation (NYSE:OCN), a leading financial services holding company, will join the NAACP to host borrower outreach events in Orlando and Miami for homeowners struggling to make their mortgage payments or experiencing a hardship due to the recent hurricane.

The events, which are part of Ocwen's broader "Help & Hope for Homeowners" initiative with the NAACP, are designed exclusively for Ocwen customers and will be held from 9:00am — 3:00pm Eastern Time on:

  • Saturday, November 11, at the Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace, located at 1900 Buena Vista Drive, Lake Buena Vista, Florida
  • Saturday, November 18, at the Miami Airport Convention Center, located at 711 NW 72nd Avenue, Miami, Florida

Borrowers who attend the events will meet one-on-one with Ocwen Home Retention Agents and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development-approved counseling agencies to discuss their unique situations and to receive information about potential options to lower their mortgage payments.

Considering the specific challenges facing customers impacted by recent natural disasters, Ocwen has developed new programs, policies, and procedures to more efficiently and effectively address borrower needs, including a specialized response team to help borrowers affected by disasters. Members of this dedicated team will be onsite at both events to assist borrowers. Depending on a customer's unique situation and investor guidelines, a range of solutions may be available to disaster-impacted customers.

"Ocwen knows first-hand the challenges the recent natural disasters caused, having felt the effects at our offices in several designated disaster areas," said Jill Showell, Senior Vice President of Government and Community Relations. "In these challenging times, many families need help, empathy, and compassion. Helping homeowners find solutions is what we do for our customers every day, and we are proud to be working with the NAACP and housing counselors to provide relief to impacted customers in Florida."

"Homeownership remains one of the most enduring ways individuals and families can build equity and wealth for generations to come. But many homeowners need trusted resources they can turn to for answers," said Torey Alston, State Economic Chair of the NAACP Florida State Conference. "The NAACP is pleased to continue our work with Ocwen to help struggling Florida homeowners find the right solutions to remain in their homes and their communities."
